Our Chicago-based pre-press experts will ensure they're in good shape and ready to go to print. Saddle Stitch Binding
Staples along the spine fold hold pages together. The most affordable option for booklets up to 64 pages. Pages must be a multiple of 4. Opens completely flat, making it ideal for newsletters, event programs, thin catalogs, and zines. No printable spine — booklets lie flat on shelves rather than standing upright.
Perfect Binding
Pages are glued to a flat spine, like a paperback book. Supports 28 to 700+ pages (must be a multiple of 2). The flat spine can be printed with your title, making it ideal for catalogs, magazines, directories, and manuals that need shelf presence. More durable for frequent handling. Calculate your spine width.
Also available: spiral and wire-o binding (360° fold-back, ideal for cookbooks and manuals) and case binding (hardcover, for premium presentation).
Booklets
Multiple pages bound together with a cover. Typically 8–64 pages (saddle stitch) or more (perfect bound). Uses the same offset printing process as books. Best for content that needs more space than a brochure: programs, product guides, zines, and short catalogs.
Catalogs
A booklet or book specifically designed to showcase products with descriptions and pricing. Often 24–200+ pages with high-quality coated paper for product photography. The production overlap is significant — a 48-page saddle-stitched product catalog is technically both a booklet and a catalog.
