Card Game Prototyping
There’s a lot of ground to cover between coming up with the idea for your card game and receiving the final product. Prototyping is an important part of the card game making process that will help you make sure your card game comes out the way you want it.
Curious about the cost to produce your game? Head over to our custom card game calculator for an instant quote of how much it will cost to make your idea a reality.
Prototyping your card game occurs before you’re ready to mass-produce your game. Because of this, PrintNinja isn’t able to offer any prototyping services. However, we can still provide you with some tips on what you can expect to get out of it.
First, you’ll want to develop a physical version of your card game idea. It can be as simple as sketching your artwork on card-sized paper or doing a single run at a print shop. The point is to develop something that players can test out. If you’re adding components like dice or chips, consider whether they’re really necessary. Does it feel natural to use them in game play?
Playing your card game using your prototype is called playtesting. Playtesting is a great opportunity for you to adjust the rules and structure of your game while you’re still in the prototyping stage. With the feedback you get from players, you can even revise your prototype multiple times.
